We repaid Sepahan’s support with a championship

Official media of Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan: Fatemeh Khalili, player of the club’s women’s volleyball team, told Varzesh3 about Sepahan’s championship: “The teams participating in CAVA competition were fighting for a spot in next year’s Asian Club Championship. Tournament was held at a high level and most teams had foreign players which is considered an advantage. The competition was organized in two groups—one consisting of three teams and the other of four. We competed in Group B alongside three other teams.”

She continued: “Thank God we managed to win all our matches in group stage and advance to the next round. In the final, with strong performance, thorough analysis of our opponent and the preparation we had done in training, we achieved a great result and became champions. The Maldives is a beautiful island country. Interestingly, the people are Muslim, and their athletes, like us, competed wearing hijab. They provided excellent hospitality to all the teams.”

Regarding securing qualification for next year’s Asian Club Championship, Khalili said: “We are very happy to have earned a place in next year’s Asian Club Championship. It was a very important achievement for us and we displayed beautiful volleyball. The Turan team from Kazakhstan had foreign players who compete in the Kazakh league and had strong coordination. Thanks to our solid analysis and training sessions, we executed our game plan well on the court and defeated them convincingly, 3–0. I hope that with the qualification we earned, we can achieve excellent results in next year’s Asian competitions.”

She added: “Iranian volleyball has made significant progress in terms of teamwork. Since the beginning of this year, we have participated in various training camps and competitions. Gradually, we have developed strong chemistry, and we are now showing that. Of course, there is still room for improvement and I am confident that we can perform even better moving forward and display an even higher level.”

Speaking about losing only one set in the opening match, she said: “Opening matches are always challenging, which is why we dropped one set in our first game. After that, we won all our matches 3–0. I am very happy that we were able to win the rest of our games without losing a set. I dedicate this championship to the great Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan club, the Volleyball Federation, and the people. I would also like to thank the club for its support, which made it possible for us to participate in this tournament.”

In closing, she said: “We repaid the club’s support with this championship, and I hope this support continues so that we can take part in more international competitions, build greater team cohesion, and achieve more honors. We are very happy about earning next year’s qualification—it is a major achievement for us and I hope we can deliver strong results in those competitions as well.”
